RV Rentals for the Ozark Empire Fair

The fairgrounds keeps campgrounds, but opens them event by event. Marshfield is half an hour out, so a fallback is easy.

What the Gate Costs and When It Shuts

The 2026 run was the ninetieth annual, so this is an institution rather than a new event. Published admission was $12 in advance against $17 at the gate for adults, $3.50 against $5.50 for children 6 to 12, free under 5, with parking at $5. Grandstand nights are ticketed on top of that. Two rules catch people out: there is no entry or re-entry after 9:30pm, and clear bags are required. The fairgrounds sits at 3001 N. Grant Ave, Springfield, MO 65803.

The Drive and What We Do at Your End

Marshfield to the fairgrounds is 25 miles, about 30 minutes. We tow the trailer to wherever you are staying, level it, connect what the site offers, and walk you through the tanks, fridge and awning before we go. Call +1 417-241-1006 with your dates and where you have a site, and we will match a unit to it.

The question we hear most about fair week is whether we will hold a unit while you wait on the fairgrounds to confirm camping. We will, and we do it often, because that answer comes late and booking blind helps nobody. What we will not do is deliver to the grounds on spec. We need a confirmed site address, on the grounds or at a park, before anything leaves Marshfield. Make the call to 417-833-2660 first, tell us what they said, and we will work from there.

What Does the Marshfield Fleet Actually Hold?

Everything we rent out of Marshfield is towed rather than driven. Seven travel trailers, one toy hauler and one fifth-wheel, and no motorhomes. The Hideaway sleeps eight at $130 a day and is the one most fair families land on, because four nights of fair week comes to $520 for a party of eight. The Freedom Finder sleeps nine at $140, the Campfire Cottage is the newest at $145, and the rest of the trailers run $135. The Whimsical Wheelhouse, a 2023 fifth-wheel sleeping eight, is $175 and needs a bed-mounted hitch, so it is almost always a delivery.

That towable-only reality is why we lead with delivery instead of pickup. You do not need a truck, a hitch or any towing experience. We bring the trailer, set it up on the site you have booked, and collect it when the fair is over. If you do own a properly rated truck and want to move it yourself, say so on the call and we will go through tongue weight and brake controller requirements first.

For layouts, the large bunkhouse travel trailer page covers the bigger sleepers and the small travel trailer page covers the compact ones. Dates go through the Wild RV Ventures booking page.

The camping question

Where Do You Camp for Fair Week?

The fairgrounds does have camping areas. There is a North Woods area plus upper and lower campgrounds, and a recently completed Central Buildings Bath House added showers and restrooms. What the fairgrounds publishes about using them is deliberately conditional, and we are going to quote it rather than improve on it: camping is accommodated during certain events, sites are not always guaranteed and for most events are first come first served, and water and sewer are not guaranteed with camping.

No nightly rate is published. No electrical amperage is published. There is no online booking form. Whether camping runs during the fair itself specifically is not stated anywhere on the official site, because the policy is set event by event. The only way to find out is to call the fairgrounds at 417-833-2660 and ask about your dates. Do that before you book anything else, because the answer changes the whole trip.

If the answer is no, the 25-mile drive from Marshfield stops being a detail and becomes the plan. Plenty of Springfield area parks take a trailer, and a half-hour run each way is a normal commute for a fair that shuts its gates to new entry at 9:30pm anyway. Tell us which park you end up in and we deliver there instead. Either way you are not towing anything.

Hand holding a phone at a campsite picnic table beside a travel trailer
Booking around a conditional campground

Four steps, starting with one phone call

Step 01
Call the fairgrounds first

Ring 417-833-2660 and ask whether camping is open for the fair and whether they are taking reservations. The answer is event-specific and it decides where your trailer goes.

Step 02
Lock a site somewhere

If the grounds are open, pay in full, since those payments are non-refundable and hold your spot. If not, book a Springfield-area park instead. Either works for us.

Step 03
Tell us the address

Call +1 417-241-1006 with the site address and your dates. We check what hookups exist there and tell you which of the nine trailers suits it.

Step 04
We deliver and set up

We tow it in, level it, connect what is available and run you through the systems. You drive to the gate from there and get back before the 9:30pm cutoff.
